Who is a Good Leader?

As we go out to cast our votes again, let us examine what Modiji did in his ten years as the Prime Minister of this country. We all want a good leader to lead our nation, not a demagogue or a tyrant. Therefore, let us examine what Modiji has done in his ten years. 1. Modiji sold every government institution to private parties because he thought they could run India better than Modiji’s government. 2. Modiji’s team laid iron nails in the path of poor and aggrieved farmers who came to tell him their problems, such as the lack of MSP and the inability to repay their loans. Modiji and his friends force these poor farmers to repay their loans fully. Until now, Modiji’s team has never forgiven the loans of small traders.

3. Modiji brought Demonetisation reform through which we got new currency notes with in-built chips. The chips help him to locate black money, but we cannot locate the chips even now. 4. Modiji gave Temples and Trains to affluent Hindus. Why? Modiji believes that poor Muslims can’t afford such facilities. 5. Modiji brought back the black money deposited in Swiss bank accounts. Only Lalit, Nirav, and Vijay fled with all their black and white money, never to return. Modiji forgave the loans of trillions of rupees for wealthy investors. The billionaires of this country have increased their wealth by forty percent in the last year, even as the commoners deal with the backlash caused by COVID-19 and the side effects of Covi-shield vaccines and unprecedented price rise of Petrol, Diesel, and LPG.

6. Modiji made Aadhar and Pancard compulsory for small traders and farmers so that nobody could escape his taxation laws. 7. Modiji made GST laws to tax food materials for the first time in Hindustan. Even the British Raj did not tax food items. He enforced disproportionate GST for essential commodities. 8. Modiji made us run to and fro to understand how GST rules and websites work. 9. Modiji made my father learn how to use digital money. Even now, he needs help with GPay and Paytm. 10. Modiji brought 100% FDI so that small traders could take voluntary retirement and sit at home.  I have explained the foreign direct investment in detail in another post.

11. Modiji brought Agniveer yojna so young soldiers could freely sacrifice their lives for Hindustan (without pensions or protections). 12. Modiji brought the electoral bond scheme. The Supreme Court has banned the scheme, calling it illegal since it is a legalized way to give and receive bribes. After considering what Modiji has done, how can we vote for him again? 13. Modiji had promised millions of jobs to unemployed youths in 2013. However, we have the highest unemployment rate ever since India’s independence. Still, there are many vacancies, but the government is reticent about granting those jobs to deserving people and paying them properly.

The father of this nation, Mahatma Gandhi, symbolized the struggle and sacrifice of the poorest in our country by wearing simple clothes. He was a true representative of India, embodying the spirit of simplicity and selflessness. In stark contrast, Narendra Modiji lives a life of luxury, representing the interests of the wealthy billionaires of this country. This portrayal of Modiji’s lifestyle and actions betrays the values and principles that our nation was built on, leaving us with a deep sense of disappointment and disillusionment.

Today, we find ourselves with more poverty than in 1947, a stark reminder of the failure of our economic policies. Our ranking of 111 among 140 odd countries in the World Hunger Index clearly indicates the widespread hunger and malnutrition in our country. Despite these grim realities, we produce billionaires who can compete with the wealthiest billionaires of Western Developed countries like the USA. It is a glaring example of the economic disparity in our nation. This situation is a source of frustration and dissatisfaction for us all.

The Poverty line of the USA is 15,000 dollars, that is, 12 lacs rupees per year. Families that earn less than that amount get the government’s help. In India, the poverty line is only a few thousand rupees. Still, our two leading billionaires compete with the wealthiest of the West. We can attribute this stark contrast to ‘crony capitalism,’ a system where the rich and powerful are favored in business and politics, leading to wealth concentration and poverty.

In his attire and attitude, Modiji resembles and represents the top 1% of our country. His lack of connection with the common man is evident in the absence of a single picture of him with a beggar, laborer, or small trader. Modiji has tricked the commoner with his opulent lifestyle and policies that cater to the wealthy. Many naive people think it signifies those who aspire for development and perfection. However, this is a radical misrepresentation of the idea of development. In a country that struggles with hunger and illiteracy, this vision is incongruous. Before our people aspire to these heights of wealth and luxury—which, sadly, many Americans consider a source of happiness—we need equality and equitable distribution of wealth.

In contrast, Rahul Gandhi has crafted his policies to uplift the poor and marginalized, advocating for social justice and economic equality. Our empathy and concern for the underprivileged drive us to vote for the real Gandhi –Rahul Gandhi—who embodies these values. A good leader does not cling to the chair, nor is he concerned about his authority. Instead, his concern is his people’s well-being and security. He listens to their concerns sincerely. In due time, people put him in a position of authority. A good leader helps his fellow men practically and compassionately. He is not proud or arrogant, nor does he seek the admiration of his followers. A good leader serves his people faithfully. His people follow him cheerfully. I write this based on what I see Rahul Gandhi doing.
