Why do Christians love the Jewish people?
In a phrase, the answer is "God's love for Israel." The Jews troubled Jesus and the early church. They denied Jesus' Messiah-ship and condemned him. Still, Paul first went to the Jewish people whenever he declared the gospel. It is because of God's choice of the Jews. Paul first presented the gospel to the Jews. And only after they rejected the message he took it to the Gentile world.
Moreover, Paul lived as a Messianic Jew till the end of his life. He did not adopt a culturally different lifestyle. He did not reverse his circumcision. Paul went to the Jewish temple and observed their rituals to win the Jews to their real Messiah, Jesus. He even circumcised Timothy, whose mother was a Jew, so that Jewish people would not have any trouble when he visited their synagogues with Paul.
In Thessalonians, Paul says Christ would return once the Anti-Christ is revealed. The anti-Christ would deceive the Jewish people into believing that he is their Messiah. They would follow him for a while. Only after that would Christ Jesus appear again. The anti-Christ is the Torah-less one. He would hate the Torah and promote liberal philosophies. Many Jews would embrace him, thinking he was their rescuer. These facts lead to two logical conclusions.
First, Jews will be there until Jesus comes again. Nobody can annihilate the Jewish people. Since the anti-Christ is not revealed yet, Jewish people will remain faithful to their understanding of the Torah. Second, until the Jews remain, Paul and other apostles believe that God –in his love– will keep inviting them to Jesus Christ, their real Messiah. Many of them would repent and join Christ Jesus' family. Culturally, they would still live as Jews. We call them Messianic Jews.
Therefore, since we already have Jewish people in the world, it is the responsibility of every Christ-follower to pray for them and invite them to Christ Jesus' family. Even if the Jewish people deny Christians, Christ-followers cannot do it. We would continue praying for their repentance and call the Jewish people their real Messiah. I hope you understand. I am doing a research paper on this topic.
