The Question of Vegetarianism

Prof. N.T. Wright exhorted us to live like we were living in the coming age. The next day, I stopped eating meat. My wife asked, "What happened to you? Did your father tell you to be vegetarian again?" I said, "I think so." She forced me to eat a small piece of meat. I refused. She was mad at me and told her mother, "It seems Manoj is becoming Hindu again!" I said, "Nope. I am living like I would live in the age to come." "You see, my wife, there's no death in the coming age. Where will you get dead animals or fish to eat? Even wild animals won't feed on each other. How could we?" So, I told my friends, "In the coming age, you will not get non-vegetarian food." The North Eastern guys said, "Man, you're kidding. We can't survive without meat." I said, "Sadly, my friends, you will thrive. But nobody dies in the coming age. Where will you find a dead animal or a dead fish?" These days, many peo...

Temptation, Sin, and Hyperboles of Jesus

Dear friends, temptation is not a sin. Only if we fall into temptation and do actual adultery or murder is it a sin. God will not judge us according to the hyperboles of Jesus in Matthew 5-7. If anger is equated with murder, Jesus himself would become a sinner. Jesus rebuked his contemporaries angrily and called them "fools" in Matthew 23. Dear friends, don't think that just because you had a thought to murder someone or commit adultery, you are a murderer or an adulterer. Only if you act these out physically will you be held responsible.   I say this for the hypocrites who try to equate a wet dream with adultery or homosexuality. It is a false equivalence. I say this also for those who equate righteous indignation with murder. Anger against injustice is not a sin. However, it may lead you to commit actual violence, which is a sin. Therefore, let us use fair scales. We cannot equate those who do homosexualities and sexual immoralities with single young people who get wet ...

Homosexuality versus Homosexuals

Dear friends, Canada fined a town $10,000 for not participating in "Pride Month and flying the LGBTQ2 rainbow flag." They accused the town of 1,300 people of violating the Human Rights Code. Both Christians and Muslims joined hands to protest this atrocity against their religious freedom. They rightly argued, "No flags were being flown for the straight people." Therefore, they were not obligated to fly the rainbow flag. [1] In sharp contrast, America’s President Donald Trump has passed a law that only identifies two genders: male and female. [2]   Jesus loves homosexuals, but Jesus hates homosexuality. Those who continue to practice homosexuality cannot become members of God’s family (1 Timothy 1:10). God’s Word considers homosexuality as a detestable (Lev. 18:22) sin (1 Cor. 6: 9,10), a perversion (Jude 1:5-7, Gen 19:4-5), and punishable offense (Rom 1, Lev 20:13). Therefore, pastors cannot give them membership, let alone conduct their homos...
