Homosexuality versus Homosexuals
Dear friends, Canada fined a town $10,000 for not participating in "Pride Month and flying the LGBTQ2 rainbow flag." They accused the town of 1,300 people of violating the Human Rights Code. Both Christians and Muslims joined hands to protest this atrocity against their religious freedom. They rightly argued, "No flags were being flown for the straight people." Therefore, they were not obligated to fly the rainbow flag.[1] In sharp contrast, America’s President Donald Trump has passed a law that only identifies two genders: male and female.[2]
Jesus loves homosexuals, but Jesus hates homosexuality. Those who continue to practice homosexuality cannot become members of God’s family (1 Timothy 1:10). God’s Word considers homosexuality as a detestable (Lev. 18:22) sin (1 Cor. 6: 9,10), a perversion (Jude 1:5-7, Gen 19:4-5), and punishable offense (Rom 1, Lev 20:13). Therefore, pastors cannot give them membership, let alone conduct their homosexual weddings.
Even natural selection did not select homosexuality as a way for the human species to reproduce. It is an unproductive, unnatural, unsustainable, perverted way of life. That is why Dr Ambedkar’s “colonial era” Constitution calls it an unnatural practice in Article 377.
“Whoever voluntarily has carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal, shall be punished with 1 [imprisonment for life], or with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine. Explanation.—Penetration is sufficient to constitute the carnal intercourse necessary to the offence described in this section.”[3]
However, India’s Supreme Court ruled against this article, citing genetic reasons for homosexual behaviors. The Supreme Court of India considered 377 “irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary” in consensual adult homosexual relationships.[4] However, 377 was active concerning “minors, non-consensual sexual acts, and bestiality.” In 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) removed 377 except for the right to self-defense against “an assault to gratify unnatural lust.”[5]
Nevertheless, new research shows that sexual orientation (Hetero or Homo) may have no genetic origin. Identical twins have identical DNA but display diverse sexual orientations. One of the twins may be homo, while the other is hetero. It shows that one’s genetic makeup does not determine one’s sexual orientation.[6] Therefore, since homosexualities have no genetic or natural basis, the provisions of article 377 would still make sense. The article is still active in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Srilanka (365).[7]
Dr Shashi Tharoor and his liberal friends wanted to strike this article down. However, they never got the Parliament’s nod. The AAP-Congress-Communist team always says they want to save the Constitution from amendments. Then, why were they so keen to remove this article? Gandhi Parivar, AAP, and the Communist Party share Tharoor’s viewpoint. IUML, BJP, and SP wanted to uphold this article. As a follower of the Bible, carefully think before you choose the side you support.
The people of God left this sinful way of life 4000+ years ago. God destroyed Sodom for doing sodomy. It is not a progressive way of life. It pushes civilization backward by 4000+ years. Homosexuality is a learned behavior. Many Biblical Christians have overcome this behavior with the help of the Holy Spirit. If adulterers, thieves, and murderers cannot continue in their sinful ways of life to be a part of God’s church, how can homosexuals be allowed? God will show homosexuals mercy if they repent and stop practicing homosexuality. Jesus loves all people. He will forgive and help them to live holy lives that glorify him.
