The Deceived Hindu Voter of Kozhikode South
Kozhikode South: Total Voters: 1,50,000+, Hindu population: 60 percent (90,000). Still, out of the four candidates, three are Muslim candidates from Muslim communal parties, and not secular parties. The Communist parties (CPI or CPM) have no candidate. The Congress party has no candidate. The UDF is fielding IUML (Muslim League), and the LDF fields INL (Muslim League). All these parties are confident that in a sixty percent Hindu area, no Hindu candidate can win. Why? Because they know Muslims will vote in a lump sum, and those who get their vote share might win. Take a look at this classic example of vote bank politics.
In 2021, in Kozhikode South, the INL Muslim candidate received 50,000+ votes, while the IUML Muslim candidate received 40,000 votes. The Hindu candidate of the BJP got only 24,000 votes, mostly Hindus. She lost. But this time, my dear Hindu and Christian voters, think carefully. How can a community that is less than 40% of the total population field two candidates from both fronts in Kerala? It is because Hindus never vote along religious or communal lines, whereas Muslims almost always vote along communal lines. The political fronts know that many Hindus will vote for LDF or UDF based on their left or right-wing ideology, and the Hindu vote share would get divided.
In this election as well, both the main parties, LDF and UDF, namely CPM and Congress, do not have a candidate to field in Kozhikode city under their symbol. Two pseudo-secular Muslim parties (INL and IUML) are fielding two Muslim candidates. Whoever wins, LDF or UDF, a Muslim MLA would be the result. It happens because almost all voters in the minority Muslim community vote communally. Though in the last five years, none of the INL or IUML candidates have done anything good for the city, except for their own minority community, many Hindus may still vote for their ideological parties without examining who they are actually voting for.
These misdirected Hindu voters are not voting for a Gandhian Congress UDF, nor are they voting for a Marxian Communist LDF. Instead, they are blackmailed by their respective fronts, blinded by the desire to win elections, and tricked by their political leaders to vote for a Muhammadan Shariat candidate. These Hindus hardly notice it unless someone points it out. This is classic votebank politics. The voter is eager to win for his left or right-wing ideology, but in reality, he elects a Pseudo-left or Pseudo-right Muhammadan. It is unfair, and does not justly reflect the real voice of the sixty percent Hindu voters: right or left.
However, if Hindus vote only for a Hindu candidate, this phenomenon will not repeat. Therefore, let's do a Reverse Votebank now. Let's break this unholy chain and choose T. Raneesh. To defeat vote-bank politics, let us unite and vote only for T. Raneesh. All Hindus must make their votes count and vote only for the BJP. We should not allow this level of hypocritical vote-bank politics where the opponents are using Muslim communal parties and their terrorist friends to demean all those who vote for an ideology, left or right.
